WHO WE ARE

OUR_STORY.TXT

ACM has established Student Chapters to provide an opportunity for students to play a more active role in the Association and its professional activities. More than 500 colleges and universities throughout the world participate in the ACM Student Chapter Program, whose aims are to enhance learning through exchange of ideas among students, and between established professionals and students.

By encouraging student chapters on campuses, ACM introduces students to the benefits of a professional organization. At PSUT, that has meant more than a decade of training, contests and community.

MISSION.TXT

In the past few years, we came to realize that Computer Science in Jordanian households is associated with words and terms like “Code”, or “an employee who writes computer code for a living”. This really sounds bizarre now that we are studying this science!

And so we set our mission to face the false portrait our community perceives Computer Science as. We want to show our community that Computer Science is indeed a Science, like Physics, or Astronomy! And computers are just the tool! You do not need to write code to use Computer Science, it is everywhere!

FAQ.TXT
Do I need experience to join?

No. Trainings start at the beginner level, and the Mini Coding Marathon is made for students who have never done competitive programming.

What is competitive programming?

Solving algorithmic problems against the clock, alone or in teams of three. It is what contests like the ICPC, ACPC, JCPC and IEEEXtreme test, and it is great practice for technical interviews.

How do I track my progress?

Sign in to PXL Arena with your PSUT Google account and link your Codeforces handle. You get on the PSUT scoreboards, can duel other members, and can follow PSUT live during Codeforces rounds.

Graduated? Can I still use the Arena?

Yes. Ask the committee to add your personal email and you can keep competing with your old teammates.

Are the lecture reviews really anonymous?

Yes. PXL Reviews never asks who you are. Trainers only see averages and comments, so be honest and kind.
